Allotment Knapes Field Clearance

We are pleased to inform you that the Parish Council’s contractors will soon be undertaking important clearance works at the allotments and Knapes Field. These efforts are part of our ongoing commitment to enhance and improve the accessibility and usability of these spaces for the benefit of the entire community. 
 
The scheduled works will commence on 28th January 2025 and are expected to be completed by 6th February 2025. During this period, there may be some temporary disruptions, and we kindly ask for your understanding and cooperation.

The clearance works will focus on tidying up the allotments and opening up access into Knapes Field, making it easier for everyone to enjoy both areas. This will also allow us to develop the new open space and enable future maintenance of the site. We will be clearing sections of the overgrown footpath and cutting back vegetation to ensure safe and convenient passage. We anticipate that these improvements will provide significant future community benefits, including more opportunities for communal activities and leisurely enjoyment of the green spaces.

Please be aware that there will be some burning of waste on site as part of the clearance efforts. Safety is our utmost priority, and we will ensure that all necessary precautions are taken to minimise any inconveniences. It is important to us that these works take place during winter so that we can minimise disruption to bird nesting and other wildlife in accordance with best practices.
