Events Diary
In order for
Mid Sussex District Council to ensure that local events are being carried out
in a COVID-Secure manner we have changed our Event Notification process and we
would very much appreciate your assistance in ensuring any events are passed
through this procedure. This will ensure that events in Mid Sussex conform to
the Government guidance and most importantly we can ensure that we are helping
to reduce the spread of COVID in our area. See our Event Checklist HERE
Procedure for events (of any type indoors or outdoors) of 30 or more people:
- Event organiser must notify MSDC 28 days prior to the event start date. The online form can be here. https://doitonline.midsussex.gov.uk/officeforms/MDC_Safety_Advisory_Group_Event_Notification.ofml
- The event organiser must complete the new Covid19 checklist (see attachment). If the event does not meet these requirements West Sussex County Council can prohibit the event from occurring.
- All event documentation should be sent via email to sagevents@midsussex.gov.uk. The Emergency Planning Officer, Paul Collard, will then forward this information to all relevant consultees for their review and comment. Once the event has been formally notified to MSDC and the checklist and associated documentation have been submitted, a SAG meeting may be generated by Paul Collard (if required) to review the event details.
We appreciate that this is an extremely difficult time for businesses and we would very much like to ensure that events which can be operated in a COVID-Secure manner are permitted and encouraged to take place. As you are aware the Government guidance is under constant review which is influenced by the circumstances at the time. We will keep a close watch on the changing Government guidance in relation to events and will update you if there is any change to this procedure.
